Entstehungsprozess
I used an appealing style with with no contours on this illustration. Like usual, I start with a generic sketch. Instead of going for inks afterwards, however, I'm drawing in patches of colors directly. I'm keeping the sketch layer on for continuous reference.
As soon as possible, I hide the sketch layer. Afterwards I continue working with water color-like brushes and draw in details and shadows. Such a coloring style is almost more design than illustration. Settling on good colors and contrast is all the more important.
